A involving opportunity to play your part in the ongoing success of a major chemicals site

AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals (SC) provides a wide range of high quality and sustainable ingredients that are integral to numerous key industrial processes worldwide.

Our Botlek site in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is one of our largest production sites and central to the success of the newly formed SC organization. With a significant replacement value and an ambitious (asset) strategy, this Industrial Chemicals (IC) site is about to make substantial investments in Information Technology (IT) that will ensure the continuation of the Chlorine cluster in Rotterdam for the coming decades.

This involves replacing the current Pace system with EPI-MES. Thus your mission in this role is to guide the organization and its stakeholders through the successful implementation of the EPI-MES system. As such, the role requires deep IT knowledge combined with an open-mind towards ideas and solutions from other disciplines.

Is this a challenge that matches your profile as a results focused and analytical problem solver? Have you developed the skills necessary to identify and structure issues, run accurate (also statistical) analyses and synthesize recommendations? Are you an experienced team player, able to build your own network and operate across the multiple layers of a matrix organization? Above all, can you make a real difference within our dynamic, multinational and multicultural business environment?

If you offer all this and more, we invite you to apply for the position of

The role and its responsibilities

Your core function in this role is to develop, implement and maintain the new EPI-MES system, working with your team to ensure project delivery in line with the agreed timing, budget and scope. Following implementation you share the experience and knowledge gathered with other IC sites and help the roll out.

You then act as the functional owner, ensuring asset integrity and keeping the EPI-MES system up to date by developing and implementing tools/applications to support day-to-day operations and site growth. In doing so you move towards a Continuous Improvement mode.

In order to achieve this you build and maintain a network within IT, the International Supply Chain, Finance, and other business areas within SC.
