Security Architect

Security Architect required to develop the security architecture for a client who is currently undergoing a significant business transformation.

This is an exciting opportunity that will allow the successful candidate to get involved with modern technologies.

Work plan:

*Work closely with the project delivery team (including solution architects), with DaaS and the enterprise data architect to understand how data is used

*Rapidly engage with the interfacing areas (above), must understand the context and the project and must generate, explore and describe solution options for securing.

*Work closely with the SEP and the Information Assurance Team to understand any relevant data journeys and security threat and risk assessments and to understand and embed the Enterprise Security Architecture

*Conduct any further, detailed, security threat and risk assessments required and assess the risks

*Work with a range of stakeholders to develop evaluation criteria (which must be risk based and must include short term and strategic considerations) and, with the Solution Architects and Delivery Manager, facilitate decision making on these options within the existing governance processes

*Develop preferred designs and work with the Solution Architects to implement and test them.

Essential skills and experience:

* Full understanding of government security standards and specifically of recent changes of approach to security; with experience of applying these in a business context.

* Understanding and demonstrable experience of the principles of secure-by-design best practice and of developing end-to-end solutions which avoiding stove-piping

* Strong understanding of overall information assurance principles and the use of data journeys as the basis for security design

* Understanding and experience in the use of enterprise business architecture to guide security solutions design, e.g. Zachmann, TOGAF

* Proven ability to consider security issues within a business context and to articulate the risk-balance and cost effectiveness of different options

* Qualified Security Architect (e.g. CCP, SABSA, CISSP-ISSAP) or able to demonstrate equivalent industry experience.

* Sound knowledge of the security considerations and solutions needed for cloud-based services and open source technology and programming languages (as opposed to simply selecting and buying from traditional security vendors)

* The presentational and stakeholder management skills needed to articulate solution options and facilitate effective decision making

* Able to work collaboratively, positively and energetically as a member of fast moving team.

Desirable Skills and experience:

* Experience of relevant technologies including ideally the Cloudera toolset

* Security clearance at SC level or above
