Open Source Specialist (Internet Email)

Globally renowned financial organisation based in Birmingham City Centre is looking for an experienced Open Source / Internet Email Engineering Specialist to join the team during an exciting period of transformation.

The Internet Email Engineering Specialist will be joining the End User Computing group within the Chief Technology Office (CTO), which is responsible for the strategy and engineering of technology platforms that include email, mobility services, unified communications and voice services used across the company.

Key responsibilities:

*Architecture and design of the email backbone which includes; SMTP Internet gateways, Email Gateway anti-spam and anti-virus products, Email distribution list manager, Cyrus based IMAP service and SMIME email encryption gateways

*Managing stakeholder expectations and working with group IT Security, Internal Audit, Compliance and Governance.

*Drive projects related to; Process improvement, Proactive operational and infrastructure risk mitigation, IT Audit requirements, SDLC.

Skills and experienced required:

*Expert knowledge on open source infrastructure software

*Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux Operating Systems

*Expert knowledge on commercial email products

*Basic experienced of working in a Internet Email environment

*Good understanding of information security for infrastructure applications

*Knowledge and experienced of Python Programming, Shell Scripting or JavaScript development is also required for the role.
