Role: Network & Unified Communications Specialist

Salary: Up to £50,000

Location: Birmingham

I am currently recruiting for a Network & Unified Communications Specialist to work for a market leading company in Birmingham.

Job Scope:

Day-to-day management and development of the Firm's IT network and unified communications infrastructure, covering all hardware and software which provides the base on which the Firm's IT Applications (both network and voice) operate. This will be carried out within the framework of change control mechanisms.

Experience / Skill Set:

Must have a demonstrable track record of the following technical skills encompassing network hardware equipment, software applications and communications:

- Experience in working with and supporting Cisco local area network (LAN) equipment (Nexus; 6500; 3750, 3650)

- Experience in working with and supporting Cisco routers (2900; 3900, ISR 4000, ASR 1000), to support existing wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.

- Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols (EIGRP; BGP), along with existing WAN types (VPLS; IPSEC tunnels)

- Cisco UCS - C and E Series

- Cisco wireless 5508, 2504, vWLC, Prime Infrastructure

- Cisco voice, including CUCM, IM&P, Unity Connection, ARC

- Cisco video conferencing systems (CMS/Acano, Expressway) and endpoints (IX, MX, SX, DX)

Additional experience in the following areas considered beneficial:

- Experience with network security technologies: Cisco ASA, Checkpoint Firewall, penetration testing methodologies and systems hardening

- Experience of virtualisation technologies
