Senior IT Specialist (SharePoint)

My well known, rapidly growing client based in Birmingham City Centre is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior IT Specialist (SharePoint) to join their close knit team and their head office. This role will take a leading role in the delivery of the ICT service to the company to enable the delivery of objectives to make best use of ICT as a business tool and effectively to deliver a one stop shop for ICT services.

Key responsibilities:

*Responsible for the delivery of the ICT service function to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of ICT business equipment.

*Be responsible for a portfolio of problems, issues and requests to meet a high-level business need and acting as the ICT link between the end client team and ICT.

*Responsible for significant, highly complex, support issues and projects

*Responsible for ensuring that operating principles and processes have been adhered to in line with the ICT Strategy and to ensure the security and reliability of the corporate network infrastructure

*Ensuring that best practise for ICT cyber security is carried out and adhered to with any noncompliance reported to the Cyber Security Specialist

*To work towards resolving issues which affect the corporate objectives and day-to-day business operation

*To be responsible for the searching, identifying and implementing solutions based on best practice within the team and ICT Industry and looking for specialist technical solutions from both hardware and software suppliers

*Responsible for the operational delivery of the ICT strategy ensuring policy, security and legal standards are adhered to

*Provide ICT consultation/advice when required for projects by all areas of the business

*Assist in the professional development of junior members of the department acting as a mentor when required

*To take part in/lead in knowledge transfer where required to members of the Infrastructure Team in turn ensuring greater resiliency and redundancy

*Working with the Service Transition Team to improve business efficiencies through automation and process refinement

*Participate in the Out of Hours rota to ensure business continuity for critical systems

Skills and experience required:

*Technical experience of diagnosing & resolving ICT issues to an advanced level

*A good understanding of the law, security and policy issues

*SharePoint 2013 installation, configuration and administration

*Experience with Microsoft SQL database administration, (2008/2008 R2,2012 & 2016)

*Windows 2008/2012 Active Directory

*Virtualisation management experience (VMware vSphere)

*SAN storage installation, configuration, management & monitoring (e.g. HP, NetApp, Dell, EMC)

*Knowledge of scripting technologies, specifically for systems administration (e.g. PowerShell, VB, .Net) for SharePoint, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
