IT Security Engineer is required to join a world renowned company from their IT head office based in central Southampton

The role of IT Security Engineer will be to take a proactive approach to both network and infrastructure security across the company. You will assist in the development implementation of day to day operations in applying reasonable and proportionate risk based controls are applied which would include but not limited to:

* Secure Network configuration - Firewall, Router Management, DMZ etc.

* Access Control - via wired / wireless, role based, physical

* Secure configurations of software ( Windows / Linux)

* Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation

* Malware Defence

* Data Recovery and destruction

* Authorised devices and software

* Security Skills assessment and training

* Risk based limitation of network Controls and Protocols

* Controlled Use and monitoring of Administrative privileges

* Penetration and Red team exercises

The ideal candidate for the IT Security Engineer will preferable be working in a similar role at the moment and have an industry recognised qualification within IT Security / Cyber Security such as MSc, CEH, CESG CCP, IISP, CISSP, CISM.

You will be able to show demonstrable understanding of secure network communications, data encryption, switching, routing and firewall security. Furthermore a general understanding of enterprise level server (Windows and / or Linux) along with storage hardware including its management and support would be highly beneficial.

Further experience within the following areas would also be desirable:

* Centre For Internet Security 20 Critical Security Controls

* ISO 27001 implementation and certification

* "Internet of Things"

* Government Information Security Accreditation processes

* Cyber Essentials

* GDPR
