Graduate Software Developer for a high-tech microscopy start-up in Oxford: Web Technologies, Python, .NET, AWS or Azure

Ongoing company expansion has created an opportunity for a Graduate Software Developer with an interest in web and cloud technology to join the team within a scientific start-up in Oxford. This role is very open in terms of requirements, and would suit a Graduate Software Developer with a mathematical mind-set, and someone who is keen to learn new technologies. The focus of the role is to develop a new cloud platform to interface with their desktop application (using AWS, Azure etc.). Your projects could range from back-end to front-end projects and could involve Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript etc.) and lots of data analysis, and the role could then filter into a multitude of other avenues (e.g. Python, C#, .NET, SQL development).

If you are inspired by new scientific technology and want the opportunity to work for an expanding and flexible scientific start up as a Graduate Software Developer, then this is the perfect environment to start your career. The company have designed and developed a super resolution optical microscope and are keen to grow the team with driven Graduate Software Developers with a mathematical mind-set who share the same passion for innovation and excellence.

Cloud Software Engineer Requirements:

-              A solid academic background, including a University degree in a technical field, e.g. maths, computer science, physics, engineering

-              Demonstrated proficiency in Web Technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL etc.)

-              A mathematical mind-set, happy to get involved with data visualisation and analysis.

You will be working in an exciting, fast-paced, but also relaxed and flexible working environment in Oxford-based offices. As a small company, you will be close to all aspects of the business. There will be room to grow with and within the business, and opportunities to liaise directly with customers and clients. The environment is lightweight on formal process (we have a basic Kanban board and Git workflow) and you will be expected to be self-managing, proactive and share responsibility with the other developers for each task in hand.

Package:

A salary reflective of experience but this would be circa £30-40k plus very exciting share options, as well as the opportunity of joining a technologically advanced start-up who are very passionate about what they do!

If you feel you do not have exposure to cloud technologies but retain an interest in it then please do apply, as this role is ideally suited to an adaptable developer with some exposure to programming in at least one major project (e.g. a dissertation), who is keen to add new skills to their repertoire, and you will have all of the guidance you need to grow.

Don’t miss out, apply now!
