Project Support Officer - Portsmouth
PERMANENT, FULL-TIME, UP TO £24K, PORTSMOUTH
The Role
Due to company growth and a new contract win, the opportunity has arisen to join a leading global Defence Technology & Security organisation as a Project Support Officer, within their Maritime Land & Weapons division.
Responsibilities
* Development and maintenance of the project schedule and cost plans on behalf of the project manager
* Assisting the project manager to develop resource plans, committing resources to projects, and generation of task sheets from plan including necessary revisions
* Project cost variance analysis to support project forecasting
* Project reporting (to include preparation of spread sheet reporting templates)
* Provide sales and bidding support
* To become a recognised "super user" in a number of project support activities and tools
* Third Party Information, ITAR and document control
* Database administration, such as AMP and MMIP asset management systems
* Copying & issue of reports
* MOD P2P (electronic) invoicing
* Debtor control
* Shopping carts and liaison with Supply Chain when required (T&C's, quotes, etc.)
* SAP receipting of Purchase Orders
* Administrative support of the Lifecycle Briefcase (company's SharePoint system used to support the project life cycle)
* Attendance at internal and external project meetings as required by the project manager
* Organisation of meetings, chasing inputs, preparing agendas, distributing minutes, tracking actions for completion
* Minute taking as required
* Provide transactional travel services to project managers and their teams in support of UK and overseas travel
* Provide specialist transactional import / export support
* Booking visitors on to site and hosting where appropriate
* Provide additional administrative supports as and when required
Requirements
* GCSE Maths and English as a minimum
* IT competency and experience using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
* Dynamic self-starter with a 'can do' attitude, who is prepared to work in a fast-paced environment
Security Clearance
If you are successful, you will be put through Ministry of Defence security clearance. To gain this you need to have been a resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
