IT Security Engineer - Republic of Ireland

A superb opportunity for a IT Security Engineer has arisen with our multinational client based in Ireland. We are looking for a Cyber Security professional to join their Global Cyber Response team which protects their digital systems and assets around the globe. The successful candidate will manage risk, find creative new solutions to complex cyber security problems while applying advanced problem-solving and analytical skills. We are seeking an experienced individual with exposure to analysing security related information in a large, complex environment that is subjected to substantial cyber threats. You will be working with global cross-functional teams to support cyber security event analysis, investigations, forensics, policy and compliance efforts.
The team are critical in the early identification of threats to the environment and work with internal teams in providing timely response to incidents while continually improving their detection and response capabilities. You will have the opportunity to utilize and enhance your problem solving, analysis and reasoning skills and innovate to enhance our ability to react to emerging threats.
Candidates should have either experience in Information Security or general IT experience with a passion for security and a demonstrable knowledge of industry events and of current cyber exploit techniques and mitigations, including:
A solid understanding of various attack vectors and malware / exploit techniques, tactics and procedures
Knowledge in data analysis and be familiar with application and security event logging systems.
Experience of evaluating and responding to alerts
Knowledge and experience with scripting languages (Python, Powershell, Bash, etc...)
Will have a track record of flexibility and versatility to adapt to the ever-changing threat environment and business drivers that influence the projects and priorities of ISRM.
Excellent problem solving and verbal and written communication skills
A demonstrable track record for taking initiative and getting things done under ambiguous direction.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideally candidates will have:
Experience in information security, specifically with malware analysis, proactive threat hunting and IOC generation
Experience analysing and triaging malware using static/dynamic techniques.
Experience in one or more of: disk / network / memory forensic tools, log analysis, and developing custom scripts/rules/functionality
Experience in handling targeted attacks
