The Role
As Network Engineer you will support the technical requirements for the development and delivery of the IT infrastructure for the business. You will be required to make operational changes and troubleshoot LAN/WAN network faults and follow change management processes. You will deliver a secure and reliable network platform for the business to successfully carry out its operations. You will add your knowledge to the IT department when developing strategic plans for the improvement of the IT network within the business.
The Network Engineer will also resolve technical issues between internal IT and external suppliers as well as be responsible for network security. You will be required to have a working relationship with both the UK IT department and the business' central team based abroad.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced network professional with a strong technical background. You will have in-depth knowledge of a wide range of CISCO technologies, including routers, switcher and firewalls. You will be a self starter and have strong and confident communication skills.
Essential Skills
*CISCO core, distribution and access switches
*Strong Working knowledge of LAN/WAN
*CISCO ASA Firewalls
*Wireless Networking experience
*Working knowledge of Juniper Netscreen
*VPN
Desirable Skills
*Experience of working against ISO9001 standards
*Previous experience working within an automotive environment
*Strong communication skills
