Java Developer - Algo trading Investment Bank

This tier 1 Investment Bank is looking for a Senior Java developer to join their Algo trading team and develop low latency, front office applications for their equities trading desk using Core Java.

This is a Java developer in a high profile, business critical, exciting development team where they handle millions of requests every second, at a constant rate throughout the day, and to do so they achieve a low latency of sub -milliseconds.

THE ROLE

* The role will involve Core Java development, multithreading, JVM tuning (requiring knowledge of JVM internals, Garbage Collection, heap space management, etc)

* They are looking for a self starter.

* The key factor in this role is designing and developing well written low latency applications.

They would like to hear from any Java developer with experience of some or the following: Coherence (or other distributed technology), in-memory DBs, messaging technologies, NoSQL Key-Value datastores, etc

There is little politics in this team and it is a good, strong team with clear lines of responsibility and a fairly relaxed java development environment.
