Senior Web Developer - Java / Scala - C. London - £75,000

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer who is proficient on Java 7 and ideally, touched on on Scala either commercially or in a project they have done in their own time.

The organisation I am working with are a leader within the entertainment sector and specialise in creating 'white label' software platforms and products which are used by a range of well known organisations in the UK.

Presently, as part of their 5 years plan, they are re-developing their core entertainment platform using Java 8 and Scala, in addition to taking advantage of the latest DevOps and NoSQL tools available.

It's a great opportunity to get stuck into emerging tools and technologies, as this phase of their 5 year planing is still in it's initial stages. The Software Development Team are deciding which technologies will be used and are researching how each tool may effect the platforms scalabilty when rolled out to their clients.

To apply for this role you need to have the following skills:

* Java - proficient in functional programming and object oriented design

* Scala - 2 - 3 months experience (commercial and non-commercial are both acceptable)

* Experience with version control, issue management and continuous integration (ex: Git, JIRA, and Jenkins) is required

* Building and securing RESTful web services using Spring

* Passion for automated testing and agile, test-drive development

* Enjoys a fast-paced, technology-driven, team-oriented, high-intensity environment

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

If this sounds like you and you would like more info on the role, call 0207 907 3838 and ask for Chiamaka.
