Project support officer / 3 months contract / Milton Keynes / Immediate

My public sector client is currently looking for a project support officer to join them on a 3 month initial contract at their office in Milton Keynes. As the project support officer you will be offering project support to the project manager and working as part of a team.

Main duties and responsibilities:

*Act as point of contact in the team for internal and external customers, responding promptly to queries.

*Organise and manage dates and documentation for programme and project meetings.

*Organise and attend relevant internal meetings, including formulating and circulating agendas and action lists.

*Ensuring compliance to commercial gate review process including where necessary preparation of documentation.

*Monitor the delivery of work streams against plans, chasing and challenging progress as appropriate.

*Administer, monitor and report on projects budgets in accordance with the client's processes and timetables.

*Responsible for tracking actual project costs against allocated budgets and producing monthly reports.

Skills and Experience:

*Good team player skills, working well with others and delivering results.

*Good organisational skills.

*Managing and prioritising workload and time effectively and being able to respond to changing priorities.

*Must be experienced with core applications such as MS Word, Outlook and Excel.

*Must have MS Project 2007.

*Knowledge of SharePoint desirable.

*Working in a project environment, ideally supporting either large projects or multiple smaller projects.

*Prince 2 Foundation or Practitioner qualification and experience.
