Job Description

If you are a senior web designer with a stand out portfolio, are brimming with creative ideas and enjoy the buzz of a dynamic, fast-paced studio, you could be what we are looking for.

You would be joining our growing team in Birmingham, increasing our number to 26 designers, developers and visualisers nationwide. As an in-house team at Atkins, one of the largest engineering and design firms in the world, the environment is fast, fulfilling and offers loads of scope for creativity.

Requirements

We require a creative thinker who knows the technical ins-and-outs. You will be responsible for seeing a project through from initial visuals to completion and often ongoing site maintenance.

Technically speaking, you will be fluent in, but not limited to:

•HTML
•CSS
•JavaScript
•Implementing Jquery
•Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
•Open source frameworks.

Any other web related skills would be advantageous.

In addition the successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills / experience;

•A substantial level of experience of working in a similar role
•Showcase a strong portfolio that stands out from the rest
•Ability to deal with clients to extract requirements
•A firm understanding and appreciation of branding, design and communication across all aspects of digital media
•Information architecture - the ability to drive architectural decisions to ensure a user friendly end product
•Effective management of multiple projects/ tasks of varying complexities, to meet deadlines, delivering projects on time and to the given budget
•Possess excellent interpersonal skills
•Ability to work within a team

Right to Work

The UK Government intends to reduce net migration to the UK by limiting the number of overseas workers from outside the EEA coming to the UK for employment. In line with this they have significantly reduced the number of Tier 2 (general) certificates of sponsorship available to Atkins for the employment of overseas workers from outside the EEA.
