POSITION SUMMARY
As the successful candidate you will join a team of professional Linux Systems Engineers; Linux Administrators; Software Engineers and Application Support Specialists responsible for engineering, deploying, maintaining and supporting the BlackBerry Internet Service production environment.
This position will manage multiple regional, heterogeneous environments, based around the globe, comprised of thousands of systems running predominantly Linux and some Windows.
Responsibilities will include:
Architecture of core infrastructure
Engineering
Development
Deployment - software implementation and upgrades
4th level support for customer problems
Skills & Experience required include:
Demonstrated experience with Linux/ Unix administration.
Experience supporting and troubleshooting C and Java applications/ services
Substantial scripting and/ or programming experience (bash, awk, sed, perl, python, ruby)
Experience deploying and maintaining standard internet services such as :
- E-Mail (postfix, sendmail)
- Web (apache, tomcat)
- DNS (bind) services as well as their protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3, HTTP)
