Ideally we are looking for a degree qualified Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer with approx 4 years experience who has worked on Commercial, Residential and Education projects.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Carrying out the mechanical design for a variety of projects
* Completing Heat loss and Heat gain calculation both by static and dynamic means
* Establish the ventilation, heating and A/ C layout together with all aspect of public health
* Coordinate with the electrical design engineer and issue all information to allow electrical design to be completed
* Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M&E service to them, as well as understanding the client brief
* Write the specification for the project and establish the schedules for all equipment
* Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings
* Take lead discipline role in building services engineering project team and represent the company in meetings, workshops and on site
* Liaise with clients to establish requirements and key deliverables for projects
* Provide commercially focused solutions to technical issues that arise during projects
Key skills, attributes required:
* Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering/ Building Services
* Experience of working in a multi discipline engineering consultancy
* Experience of successfully delivering the mechanical elements of wide range of building service projects (i.e. Commercial/ Residential/ Education)
* Experience of completing heat loss and heat gain calculations
* Experience of designing ventilation, heating and A/ C layout together with all aspects of public health
* Experience of providing technical solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards
* Ability to analyse technical issues and provide technically and commercially viable solutions
* Ability to build and maintain consultative relationships with clients, that add value through providing commercially sound advice
* Ability to successfully plan, project manage and deliver projects, i.e On time and on budget.
* Ability to communicate in professional and effective manner with all stakeholders within a project environment.
* Strong IT skills (Excel, Word etc) ideally with AutoCAD
* Proficient in the latest relevant mechanical design software packages
* Effective and positive approach to team work
* Proactive approach to managing and maintaining workload
* Demonstrates integrity in all aspects of work
* Membership of CIBSE is highly desirable
* Ability to manage the contractual aspects of projects would be highly desirable though not essential
* Flexible in terms of travel and work location.
