Computer People are working in partnership with one of the worlds most respected and established IT and telecommunications companies to recruit 25 highly talented, graduate calibre, software engineers.
These roles will be based in either of our 4 core locations, Ipswich, Cardiff, Belfast and Glasgow.
Successful candidates will be working on high profile, software engineering, network design/ integration/ support projects. These will predominantly be enterprise level and give successful candidates a rare opportunity to rapidly progress their careers.
Core Responsibilities:
* Carries out straightforward design, testing or support of network design and solutions following existing methodology set by more senior team members.
* Works on projects or modules of projects as part of a development programme.
* Will be able to configure and diagnose problems in new products/ systems working under supervision.
* Candidates must have ability to problem solve and to be self motivated and organised.
* Ability to work in a Team along with Good Communications skills are essential behaviours.
* To have a flexible approach and a Can Do/ Will do attitude.
There are a number of graduate level opportunities covering a wide range of technologies, including Software Development (Java/ .NET), IP Networking, VOIP Networking, IT Infrastructure (Windows Server, VMWare, UNIX) and IT Systems.
Skills and Experience:
* To qualify for these roles you MUST have graduated from university with a minimum of a 2.1 in a Computer Science (or Technology related) subject.
* Candidates from a technology background with MSC's or PHD's are also encouraged to apply.
Further Qualifications (Desirable):
* Java , C++, C, or Visual Basic or of modelling tools, e.g. Matlab or OPNET would be desirable.
* Familiarity with Network Technologies such as IP, MPLS, Broadband, ATM, frame relay and SDH. Grounding in the principles and operations of Networks (Layer 2 and 3) especially IP, MPLS & Data related networks, preferably including hands-on experience of network components (eg routers).
* CCNA qualification is desirable.
* Knowledge of communication networks at layer 1 and 2, with particular emphasis on Ethernet technologies (EFM etc)
* Experience of Ethernet and other layer 1 and 2 technologies.
