c£200 per day Negotiable DOE Plus Car Allowance

With a proven track record in the ICT services domain, our client is a specialist education IT supplier to the North of England and the Midlands. An opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.

This role would suit an experienced engineer with Microsoft technical skills looking to develop their career with a company offering a rewarding short term contract.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for providing onsite installation at client’s sites across the North West of England.

Initially this role is offered as a 3 month contract with the possibility of an extension to 6 months or to a permanent position.

You will be tasked with:

- Onsite installations
- Providing 3rd line remote and onsite support for helpdesk escalations
- Researching and testing new technologies
- Providing technical pre-sales support to the account managers

To be considered for the role of Senior Network Engineer, the following skills and experience is essential:

- Microsoft Windows Server operating systems including 2003 & 2008
- Active Directory Design, DHCP, DNS, IP routing
- Group Policy configurations and management
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 RDP Server (formerly Terminal Server) Environments including RDP Gateway and RDWeb roles
- WSUS Server
- Microsoft File & Print services
- Microsoft Windows based backup technologies such as Symantec/ Microsoft Data Protection Manager
- Antivirus products for Microsoft Windows based infrastructure such as Symantec, Sophos & McAfee
- Microsoft Exchange 2003/ 2007/ 2010
- Microsoft ISA/ TMG including experience with certificates
- Servers & Storage including Fibre Channel / iSCSI SANs, storage arrays, SAN switches, rack mount servers & associated management software
- Thin Clients
- Image creation & distribution with Microsoft’s Windows Deployment Services(WDS)

Additionally, you will be motivated, organised and flexible with the desire to succeed. Good communication skills are also prerequisites.

Although not essential, a Microsoft certification such as MCSE or MCSA would be a distinct advantage to your application.
