FOLLOWING RECENT HIGH PROFILE PROJECT WINS OUR CLIENT, A LEADING MULTI NATIONAL CONTRACTOR IS LOOKING TO APPOINT A NUMBER OF KEY PROFESSIONALS TO COVER THE MIDLANDS REGION STARTING WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF A BUILDING SERVICES CO-ORDINATOR.
A STRONG BACKGROUND IN MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEERING IS ESSENTIAL AND SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE SOLID EXPERIENCE OF PRECONSTRUCTION DESIGN AND COST EVALUATION, ESTIMATING AND COST PLANNING SPECIFICALLY ON THE DESIGN SIDE, BASICALLY A BEST VALUE THINKER.
Working from our office South of Birmingham our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years professional experience from a contracting or consultancy background with leading reputable companies who is used to working on major large scale projects. You will have a solid understanding of M&E design/ construction and have excellent time management, negotiation and communication skills. Previous job titles could typically be Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical Design Engineer, Building Services Co-ordinator, Building Services Manager etc
Candidate Specification:
* Minimum 7 years experience from a contractor, subcontractor or consultancy background
* Mechanically biased
* Solid understanding of Building Services mechanical design engineering preconstruction
* Preconstruction design and cost evaluation
* Design estimation and cost planning
* A best value thinker
* Preconstruction design cost estimation experience
* Cost planning experience for M&E services
* Good client facing skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Tendering and preconstruction design co-ordination experience is essential
* Good presentation skills
* Experience of conducting interviews is desirable
* Full driving license is essential
Key Responsibilities:
* Advising on and co-ordinating preconstruction mechanical design systems
* Analysis of subcontractor quotes
* Assisting with cost planing and estimation
* Tendering activities
* Working with a strong in house design team
* Review of M&E designs offered by consultants to improve value and reduce costs
* Liaising with clients and subcontractors
* Full co-ordination of M&E design services
