Senior Network Engineer - CCNA/ CCDA - Kent - West Malling
12 hours shifts 24/ 7
Our Client, a rapidly expanding FTSE 100 company, are searching for 6 Senior Network Engineer. As a Senior Network Engineer you will be reporting to the Network Manager and contributing to the delivery of over 500 Change Requests per month as well as Project Delivery in a highly demanding environment, meeting client SLA and agreed project deadlines.
Applicants will preferably have previous experience of working within an Enterprise Data Centre environment along with understanding the need to adhere to compliant policies and procedures as well as ITIL best practices.
You will be a confident and competent Network Engineer ready to accept and support allocation of a wide variety of Project related work from the Network Provisioning Manager.
* Monitor Support queues and with the guidance of the Network Provisioning Manager ensure any potential issues are addressed and reported.
* Ensure adherence to policies, standards and controls.
* Follow and adhere to Standard Build Documentation
* Update relevant documentation in relation to change requests and project related work.
* Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of change requests, meeting SLA requirements.
* Identify areas of improvement for adding to Management SIP
* Work with Project Managers and third party suppliers during the approval of handover in to BAU.
* Provide 24x7x365 shift cover
* Perform on call cover as required outside of core hours
Ideally candidates will be Cisco CCNA and/ or CCDA certified, have experience of Support & build Checkpoint R61 upwards, Cisco PIX/ ASA. Importantly candidates should have experience of several firewall technologies and their respective management platforms and an understanding of the purpose of firewalls in a multi client data centre environment. Also:
* Technical expertise in IP networks.
* Technical expertise in Cisco Switch , firewall and VPN technologies.
* Excellent Network troubleshooting skills.
* Juniper configuration
* Cisco CSS/ F5 Load Balancing configuration
Desirable but not essential:
* ITIL Foundation
* Educated to Degree Standard, or with relevant and equivalent experience.
* Capable of attending meetings and representing network services.
* Report/ Process writing skills
* Supporting the Network Provisioning Manager in leading the team where required
* Experience of load balancer solutions (F5 and Cisco).
* Technical knowledge : Cisco ACS, RADIUS, Network Monitoring platforms (SNMPc, ITNM)
* Knowledge and practical ability to work with MPLS technologies and VRF's.
* Previous leadership experience
