Our blue chip financial services client in central Cardiff are currently looking to recruit an IBM Mainframe developer/ analyst to perform IT analysis and systems development of the business processes, infrastructure and IT systems in order to meet business objectives. In return they are offering a generous salary.
The role will require you to work with the full life cycle of change projects, overseeing them and making sure they adhere to agreed project plans. You will have to undertake research, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation of the usability and effectiveness of existing technical infrastructure and systems (including capacities and limitations), and then design and develop new/ revised processes, infrastructure, systems and documentation. You will study change requests, assessing any relevant and potential impact on projects, infrastructure and systems, and may also have to prepare and perform testing in order to prove the specified requirements as well as to run acceptance testing. The role will then require you to provide the initial operational support of new or changed infrastructure, systems or processes, and handover for ongoing support.
The successful candidate will be experienced within IBM Mainframe environments, particularly in the use of COBOL, CICS and JCL. You will also have worked with various MSA mainframe software, including MSA General Ledger, MSA Financial Controller, MSA Information Expert and MSA Data Comms Interface. Ideally you will also have made use of Endevor for the use of version control, and also worked with HP Service Manager 7 for change control purposes. Great opportunity with long-term prospects.
