Core Linux and Cisco IP Engineer - London - £45,000
An industry leading E-Commerce company now require 2 x Core Linux and Cisco IP Engineers to join their ever expanding team.
Your duties will include:
* Serve as an internal network specialist for the whole engineering department. Designing, implementing, supporting and reviewing the data networking infrastructure.
* Act in a secondary supporting capacity to the Senior Linux System Administrator.
* Implement and administer web hosting technologies such as Load Balancers, DNS, Firewalls and other security appliances.
* Perform network security risk assessments
* Review all system-related network plans and diagrams throughout the organization.
* Ensure all VOIP and Data VLANs are optimised for the specific function including configuration of multicast and broadcast services predominantly using Cisco devices.
* Ensure that procedures are in place to include network infrastructure requirements in the design for any system change and participate in any design reviews.
* Monitor network performance, implement Open Source and packaged monitoring solutions that identify early warnings and alerts failures.
The successful candidate will typically come from either an E-Commerce or ISP environment . You will have Proven experience in implementing and supporting network infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, F5) for real time 24x7 available systems. Including; Routers, Switches, firewalls and network load balancers.
* Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
* Solid working knowledge of Linux OS and a general interest in open source projects.
* Proven experience in implementing Network infrastructure for transactional web based e-commerce systems
* Track record in the development and documentation of network communication policies and procedures.
* Excellent knowledge of hardware technology for Networking purposes.
* Cisco CCNP certified or equivalent.
