Reporting into the Director of Technology the Software Configuration Engineer / Systems Administrator will play an essential role in supporting the technology team in configuring, deploying and testing software across multiple environments. Showcasing an attention to detail, a can do attitude and a keenness to progress your career, this opening presents you with a unique opportunity to become a key member of this talented software team.
In more detail your role will include:
• Participating in the creation of reproducible, testable software environments.
• Providing clear communication to the engineering team regarding progress.
• Participating in the authoring of testing automation software.
• Creating new code assigned by Configuration Engineering Management.
• Working with members of the Engineering team, participating in the completion of aggressive goals and meeting strict deadlines.
• Actively participating in an Agile/ SCRUM environment.
To qualify the ideal candidate will need to be a graduate (2.2 or above in related discipline) with previous commercial experience gained within a similar software configuration environment. As a guideline your CV should demonstrate exposure to some or all of the following:
• Experience with compiling, distributing and testing multiple-environment software.
• Experience in fast paced internet environment.
• Understanding of the fundamental operating system skills for Windows.
• Experience with administrative skills for Unix and Linux.
• Moderate SQL skills.
• Strong knowledge of source code repository patterns.
• Previous usage in use of GIT, CVS, SVN, ClearCase or similar.
• Experience with SVN, GIT administration.
• Sybase, SQL Server or Oracle experience.
• Experience with communicating with both technical and non technical audiences.
