As a leading web content management vendor, our client is an exciting and well established company based in Plymouth. Over the years they've worked with a number of private and public sector customers including Brittany Ferries, the UK Film Council and many local authorities. An opportunity has now arisen for a Java Developer to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a talented Java programmer who is very strong with web frameworks and CSS, XHTML and JavaScript technologies.
Working at the cutting edge of technology, as a Java Developer you will be working on highly dynamic web applications, delivering simple, clean and maintainable code. The role will require a thorough understanding of server side technologies.
Joining a diverse team, your duties will include:
- Evaluating and communicating progress on timescales and limitations to the project leader
- Delivering software projects and support as required
- Testing and validating work produced
- Ensuring all work carried out is well documented
- Prototyping and presenting concepts to the team
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Java programming experience
- Experience using XHTML
- A good understanding of semantic mark-up and accessibility
- An understanding of the software development process
As a Java Developer you should also have attention to detail, the ability to meet challenging deadlines and a willingness to learn and develop your skills. 2 hours a week during office hours will be set aside to help you to continue your learning.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished JavaScript Developer with experience of designing, writing, testing and using frameworks such as JQuery and Ext. Any experience of using the following would also be beneficial: CSS, C# .NET, ColdFusion, XML, Web Services.
