Experienced .NET Web Developer / Engineer

We are looking for an Experienced .NET Web Developer with full software development life cycle experience to take the Lead Role in developing our new, innovative Web-based Application.

You will be the Lead Developer for the Business, responsible for delivering the product from start-to-finish throughout the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

Once the web-application goes live, you will be responsible for heading-up the Technical Team of the Business (where you will have direct influence on the selection of additional developers & designers to be recruited as part of the team).

As Head of the Technical Team, you will be responsible for maintaining, updating & constantly improving the system to meet the needs of our user-base.

The Business venture – MyParcelDelivery.com - is being launched under the Ascendo Investments Group (as the new project of the Group’s Directors). MyParcelDelivery.com is an exciting & innovative web-based application that will provide alternative parcel delivery services to those currently offered by Royal Mail.

We require an experienced and driven .NET Web Developer with full software development life cycle experience to take the Lead Development role and work in-house, alongside our Graphic Designers & Online Marketing Agency with the view to launch the site in early 2010.

Skills required:

- A senior .NET (3.5) developer with full software development life cycle experience
- Solid experience and skills with ASP.NET in VB.NET and/ or C# (3-4 years commercial experience)
- Solid MS SQL Server experience (with Reporting services knowledge and experience preferable)
- Windows Workflow knowledge and experience preferable
- SOA-Web Services experience (WCF/ SOAP)
- Application Architecture knowledge/ experience (SOA, n-tier)
- Extensive experience with standards-based web development including (X)HTML, DHTML, CSS & JavaScript and cross-browser front-end web development
- jQuery & ASP.NET AJAX knowledge and experience preferable
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills are essential
- Ability to deal with internal & external clients
- Have experience of ‘Object Orientated programming’
- Experience of integrating multiple API feeds (XML, XSLT)
- Experience of SVN or equivalent Version Control
- Experience of developing CMS for web-based applications (preferably enterprise level)

Advantageous:
- SEO knowledge
- Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator
- PHP development experience
- experience of MySQL (to a good level – atleast 4/ 5)

Remuneration:
£35-40k
+ Milestone & Performance related Bonuses
