Our global telecommunications client based in the South West is looking for 2 Linux Administrators for immediate contract requirements both available for 3 months initially. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in network, system and database administration. Thorough understanding of the following is essential >
- Apache webservers, Jboss application servers, IMPS (WPjabber) servers, Oracle databases (10G (9i), Veritas Volume Manager, Cisco IOS
- Cisco routing/ switching/ firewalls, F5 load-balancers, x86 servers, Sun databases, EMC SAN
- Sendmail and SSL/ TLS, Bind DNS, Postgres, SMTP, Ethernet and TCP/ IP
- SNMP-based network systems monitoring tools
- Open source network tools, including, freeradius, MRTG, Cacti, and Nagios.
- Open Source/ GNU software installation and recovery
- RMAN (Recovery Manager) and one of the major backup packages (Veritas NetBackup, etc.), and experience in executing an Oracle database restore from tape and from discs.
