Senior Unix Systems Administrator – Surrey – Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS
An outstanding opportunity for a Unix systems administrator has become available with my Surrey based client. My client is one of the leading academic institutes in the UK. They are renowned for their ground breaking research and use cutting-edge technologies. They are currently working on a number of exciting research projects and this will be a perfect time to join.
You will be expected to take a lead role within the technical department. They currently have over 1000 Linux desktops and around 250 servers, which is a mix of Solaris, Red Hat and Centos.
You will have extensive experience in Unix and Linux administration and will also have strong scripting skills. Experience of Windows, and particularly experience of Windows integration in a Unix environment, would be beneficial.
To be considered for this role, you will:
•Have strong experience in Solaris, Red Hat and CentOS
•Strong scripting; Shell and Perl
•Any experience with PHP and MySQL would be great
•An understanding of ITIL would be fantastic
