A Seismic Engineer is required by a leading engineering company based in Cheshire. Salary is to 55k + Bens
As a Seismic Engineer you will work with the Materials and Design team, engaged in civil engineering consultancy and acting as the intelligent customer.
This individual will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a range of design services to existing Nuclear Power Stations and advanced reactor designs both in UK and overseas.
The role is to lead the civil engineering function within the Materials and Design team and will be responsible for the production of Civil and Structural Engineering deliverables in the form of technical reports produced within the team while ensuring that all output meets customer requirements with regard to schedule, cost and quality.
In addition to technical support, the role will also involve assistance in the development of the team, project and bid management as well as managing client relationships.
Successful execution of high quality engineering consultancy work to time, quality, budget and customer satisfaction including:
Management of the Civil and Structural engineering function within Materials and Design team including
allocation of technical work production of deliverables in the form of technical reports to appropriate processes and standards within associated project budgets, anticipation of technical risks and developing approaches to manage these risks.
• Assistance in managing cross discipline interfaces, and client representatives.
• Development of successful working relationships with existing contacts in client organisations, new contacts and opportunities for new business
• Execution and reporting progress of work in accordance with the Technical Plan and the programme
Minimum of 5+ years but preferably 10+years experience in Civil and Structural design aspects in a highly regulated industry, preferably in the process or nuclear industry, including:
• design of safety related structures and engineering substantiation.
• application of safety assessment to design and design substantiation
• experience of reinforced concrete and structural steelwork design to appropriate codes and standards
• experience of seismic analysis and impact assessment
• interfacing with other technical disciplines on multi-discipline design projects
• leading and motivating a team of engineers to deliver a design to a programme
• construction and installations experience would be advantageous • principles of engineering design verification and design review
