JAM Recruitment have an urgent vacancy for a Subsea Control Systems Design Engineer to join a highly technical design and manufacturing business focussing on the development of a specialist range of subsea control systems and associated products.
With direct involvement in a brand new range of high integrity control applications for safety critical subsea operations this role is a great opportunity for you to have a real impact on the ongoing success of this business.
With an imminent move into new offices and genuine expansion plans for the coming years this company have continued to win new business off the back of their high quality product range.
Objectives:
Specify, design and develop the company control systems and associated products
Ensure company products and services continue to meet high standards
Support company sales, production and support departments from initial enquiry through production and after sales service
Duties and responsibilities:
Identify project and client product and system requirements
Assist in establishing and meeting product qualification requirements
Develop all types of product specifications and related documentation from basic requirements through detailed design and overall system test and acceptance specifications
Manage and carry out system design, development, production and test activities
Assist in the development of company products and internal design, development and production systems
Provide system design capabilities to integrate existing products (and / or 3rd party products) into a solution to meets the client requirments
Assist project activities including product quotations, repair, support and training
Provide onsite & offshore support where required
Ensuring all activities are inline with the company internal policies including Quality and HSE policies
Essential skills:
Electronic control system design, development and production
Good electrical and electronic engineering skills
Knowledge of ATEX directive
Experience of SIL rated control system design
Preferable skills:
Good understanding of electro-hydraulic control systems, PLCs and electronic instrumentation systems
Basic knowledge of mechanical design and engineering principles
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2000 QA systems
Confidence to fault find & repair systems offshore & onshore
You will require all certification & heath checks for visits to offshore installations and foreign locations
