Finance Systems Manager / SIMS / Education / Managed Service Consultant
Our prestigious FTSE 100 client is seeking an experienced Bursar / Education Finance Manager / SIMS Finance consultant to join a growing team who visit schools as part of a contract to assist with day to day financial reporting and processes.
There will be travel around the London area and the South East with this role so Candidates applying must have a flexible approach and ideally have a full UK driver's license with car. You will also need to be able to travel to Chelmsford on a regular basis
This opportunity will have other accountabilities including reporting on different parts of SIMS (not just the finance side) so candidates applying must be willing to take a new challenge and learn more about the clients systems; you will eventually be involved with small projects involving the system!
Accountabilities:
•Working in schools on the day to day financial processes (Finance reports, Reconciliations, petty cash)
•Support to schools on their Budget Planning
•Assisting schools with their end of financial year processes
•Maintain their SIMS systems and data
•Entering data required by the school e.g. assessment data
•Involvement in SIMS related projects that relate to support issues
Essential Experience/ Skills
•Experience with problem solving in a school environment
•Knowledge of SIMS & Financial Management Systems (FMS) software
•Experience of schools' IT systems.
•Knowledge of Education finance systems
•The ability to empathise with schools staff at all levels
•The ability to build up a good rapport with schools staff at all levels
Desirable skills
•Ability to arrange visits and go into the school working on your own and Liaising with line manager
•Ability to look for new opportunities and to progress these in conjunction with Management
Desired Experience/ Skills
•Clean Driving licence
•Car owner
•CRB Enhanced required (This will be arranged)
•Desire to complete a job efficiently and to the best of your ability , Ability to learn new applications quickly, and be able to present information to a group of people
Personal Attributes
•Flexible
•Able to work on own or as part of a team
•Able to keep up to date with the latest technological advances
•A good logical approach to problem solving
•Need to be confident and have a “can do” philosophy
•Flexibility in travelling to different locations, providing cover for other areas
•Good communication skills
