A very exciting opportunity for an Applications Support person to join a Cambridge Software House who also has front end Web Development Skills.
Position – Applications Support / Web Developer (Graduate Considered)
Location – Cambridge
Salary - £22k - £28k + Healthcare + Gym + 25 Days Hol + Discretionary Bonus
Requirements –
Previously worked in an applications / software support style role.
Excellent client facing communication skills .
Experience in front end web development using HTML & JSP.
Qualifications ideally HND / Degree in computer / web related subject.
Superb organisation skills and naturally intuitive with how to prioritise your intray! Also experience of knowing when to escalate a problem to 3rd line support,
Responsibilities –
There are 3 main areas to this position and are listed in order of time spent:
1)Front line support for web applications. You will need to fix 1st and 2nd line support issues such as making changes to the application.
2)Work with the sales team to code in HTML and JSP for pre-sales meeting. The backend development has already been completed, you just need to make bespoke changes for the sales presentations.
3)Project work when the developers are busy, you will be expected to do coding when required.
This position would ideally suit one of the following types of people:
1)You are currently or previously were working in Applications / Software Support but have a real love of all things web and have experience coding in HTML & JSP.
2)You are a Web Developer who has offered support in the past, and can see yourself excelling in this field due to excellent communication skills.
3)You are a graduate with a Computer / Web related degree who has experience in a support style role, and has a real desire to work in applications support – again you must have superb communication skills.
