As an award winning company, our client is a web design and internet marketing agency specialising in search engine friendly websites. An opportunity has now arisen for a Creative Web Designer to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a talented designer with a creative approach and eye for detail who can work effectively alongside design, programming and SEO teams.
As a Creative Web Designer you'll be responsible for a range of design duties such as:
- Conceptual designs
- Existing website maintenance
- Building websites using standards-based semantic code
- Logo/ branding design
- Cross browser/ platform compatibility testing
As well as great design skills, you'll need to bring with you an enthusiastic approach and willingness to work hard. Good communication skills are essential for liaising closely with clients at the design stage and throughout a project.
Essential skills required for this position:
- Solid experience working within a commercial web design environment
- Extensive experience coding with CSS and XHTML
- Good knowledge of using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash and Illustrator
- Evidence of an artistic flair and creative approach to your design
- Good project management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and achieve tight deadlines
- Good experience working on a PC using Microsoft XP/ Vista OS
As a Creative Web Designer you should also be self motivated, organised and customer focused. Attention to detail and an innovative approach are also required.
Any of the following would be beneficial to your application:
- Knowledge and experience of SEO techniques and strategies
- Experience with integrating web design with back-end coding (ASP.NET/ ASP/ PHP/ JavaScript etc)
- Experience with working on bespoke E-Commerce/ CMS web sites
- Experience with implementing video on websites
- Experience with developing website proposals with the ability to estimate project timelines
