Computer People are working with one of worlds largest IT Outsourcers to help recruit a Network Architect to be based in London.
As a Network Technical Architect you will be the technical design authority delivering tailored network solutions to meet customer needs and bid responses. This is a technical leadership role to which Network Engineers, Project Managers and other Service Lines will turn for expert advice.
This role will predominantly be focussed on a single large customer at the outset but opportunities will exist across many other customers in the future.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overall network design and implementation lead on key projects
- Assess user requirements and formulate network specifications that are cost effective and accurately meet the identified needs of the customer
- Communicate the network delivery approach to the technical leads on each project.
- Work with project/ programme managers to ensure that plans incorporate the network related activities and dependencies to allow timely delivery of the various project phases
- Have overall responsibility for defining the firewall rules for the estate, including liaison with 3rd party and external organizations to ensure coherent rule sets.
Job Requirements:
- CCNP, CCSP qualified.
- CCSE certification advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of designing and implementing large multi-platform network solutions
- Experience of design principles & acting as the technical design authority
Skills & experience in the following technical areas:
- Network Architectures (remote site, data centre, remote access, WAN)
LAN / WAN (VLANs, MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
Firewalls (Cisco ASA, FWSM, Nokia/ Checkpoint)
