A leading healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacture seeks a UK Sales Manager to be based in the South East of England.

This is a business that was founded over 150 years ago, and has manufacturing facilities in the USA. It employs directly some 140 people. Currently at the forefront of clean air and containment engineering expertise, offering clients a wide range of products, services and bespoke solutions within the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry sectors.

This is the specialist healthcare engineering part of the group that has stayed at the forefront of medical engineering and contamination control for over 40 years, creating equipment to reduce post operative infection and increase the safety of patients undergoing deep wound surgery. They offer a full design and installation service for complete operating departments, from initial design through to full commissioning to NHS standards and beyond; design, manufacture and build.

ROLE - UK Sales Manager

The Sales Manager will develop and grow sales of their medical products and services in the South East UK region. This will be achieved by developing existing business and starting new relationships with potential clients. This encompasses uncovering and establishing the need and providing the appropriate level of direct effort in order to gain the business. In addition to this, the Sales Manager will help develop export sales of their medical products.

Duties include;

•Explore and exploit business opportunities in the defined geographic region.
•Deliver the sales and margin budgets for their range of products to key sectors of the market by delivering new business to the company from researching the customer to closing the sale and enhancing existing business.
•Take a pro-active stance to provide effective and innovative methods of sales initiatives to improve opportunities especially from prospecting new business.
•Personally deliver to the business new contacts from professional sales & marketing initiatives based on fully understanding customers needs.
•Obtain successful results from selling solutions by professional presentation in conjunction with their product specialists when appropriate.
•At close of sale, take the responsibility to sign new agreements and renegotiate existing agreements when appropriate.
•Set clear/ precise objectives and plans with the Sales Director and report progress activity undertaken against these plans and objectives on a regular basis.
•Identify and report on any competitor activity within the sector.
•Fully participate in Sales Meetings and others as appropriate.

SPECIFICATION – UK SALES MANAGER

•Ideally a Graduate or equivalent in an engineering related discipline with relevant experience in a similar position in similar sectors.
•The individual will have enjoyed progressive experience in hands-on Sales within a technical/ capital goods/ engineering environment.
•Ability to function in a demanding environment, with the patience and diplomacy necessary to attract new business.
•Commercially and financially aware, the ability to think logically and laterally and understand the difference between the viable and the impractical (loss making).
•Strong interpersonal skills, including a sense of humour, coupled with the determination to win are also desirable, as is a high level of energy as the role demands time involved in persuading, negotiating and client management.
•Such an individual will establish a vision of where he/ she is going and will make choices that will grow profitable sales volumes, make decisions, set priorities or change goals on the basis of calculated analyses. The individual will continuously evaluate and review progress against goals and will overcome barriers to progress.
•Somebody displaying this competence will develop and use mutually beneficial relationships or networks of contacts, both inside and outside the organisation to achieve goals and satisfy customers.
