My Client, the Symbian Foundation requires a Technical Project Manager to work within the Release Management team, which works across the community to coordinate the successful delivery of Symbian Foundation projects and releases.
Technical Project Managers work closely with the rest of the Symbian Foundation and the community to ensure projects successfully achieve their goals. Technical Project Managers provide a central point of focus for Symbian Foundation projects both from within the Foundation and towards the community.Technical Project Managers support the Senior Release Mangers in the delivery of the platform release projects and also have the opportunity to lead key technology projects.
Key tasks include:
·Working with package owners and tech domain representatives to define and track dependencies and integration points between packages
·Coordinating successful delivery of platform releases to meet the needs of the community
·Identifying and driving the resolution of project risks and issues
·Managing key quality indicators and processes such as defect management and test status
·Working with Foundation staff and community members to develop strong project communication infrastructure to effectively share project status across the community
The successful incumbent will have:
·A track record of strong leadership & successful delivery
·Experience in managing a number of medium to large software development projects within a technology or telecoms industry
·Strong technical understanding of software development, release and integration issues
·Ability to apply creative solutions to problems and good influencing skills
·Most essentially the candidate will have experience in an Open Source environment and experience of working with Agile development teams
