Bid Manager - West Yorkshire

My client are an established infrastructure solutions provider operating within the private and public sector. We are actively recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager to be based out of Head Office in Wetherby.

Job Specification:

We need a Major Projects Bid Manager who will be responsible for the development and sale of major IT Solutions and Services projects to significant public and private customers in the UK. In the main these projects will be either single or multiple ADBM (Analyse, Design, Build and Manage) consulting services projects ranging in size from £500k to £5m.

Main Responsibilities:

•Co-ordinate and understand the bid pipeline within Major Projects

•Manage all aspects of the bid and proposal process as determined by the business including the delivery of the final document / presentation

•Set up and manage virtual teams from across the business to deliver a clear and winning bid response / proposals

•Develop strong links across the business, including operations, marketing and sales, in order to deliver bids

•Senior stakeholder management throughout the process on major bids, including significant end customer interaction.

•Strong commercial focus to ensure the commercial, operational and customer pitch is compelling and aligned.

•Present bid proposals to end customers effectively and professionally

•Monitor and report progress, predict and mitigate risk issues

•Ensure that projects are managed in accordance with the our clients governance structure

•Manage the effort and cost applied to the bid activity and monitor costs against benefits that are realised as the bid moves towards contract signature

•Manage bid level risks and issues

•Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders

•Ensure that bid delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan

•It is essential to have a number of years experience of managing bids and proposals in a sales environment that is used to projects of £1m+.


The ideal candidate must be able to own the whole bid process and be comfortable holding people to account, be able to review and analyse complex commercial contracts and tender documentation, be a natural communicator with excellent written and oral presentation skills and the ability to present complex IT solutions and services propositions to non-technical audiences within large UK public sector and commercial organisations.
