Creative Web Designer – XHTML, CSS

Are you a creative Web Designer looking to work on a range of exciting projects? Do you have an impressive portfolio? If so, our client is looking for you.
Our client is renowned for supplying websites, hosting and content management solutions. They are now looking to hire a talented Creative Web Designer to join their team in Plymouth.
For this role our client is looking to recruit a talented Web Designer with a good understanding of the entire project lifecycle and audience requirements in order to mock-up, design and deliver. Equally as important will be an enthusiastic approach and a willingness to contribute at every step of the process.
Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical web knowledge, as a Creative Web Designer you’ll be involved in:
- liaising closely the customer at the design stage and establishing their requirements
- producing a design that is attractive, has a logical navigation system and all required features
- presenting their design concepts to customer in a professional manner
- deciding on how images and other material will be digitally optimised and presented
- ensuring that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities
- testing the design of the site in different browsers and at different resolutions
- writing web pages in a combination of codes such as HTML and XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, ActionScript, Flash – or using code-generating programs such as Dreamweaver and Visual Studio
To be considered for this position you must have the following:
- Solid experience of designing for the web
- Proficiency using XHTML and CSS
- Exceptional graphic design skills
- Project management ability
- Experience of working on multiple projects
As the Creative Web Designer you will also need the ability to work on several projects at a time, liaise with clients and achieve agreed deadlines. You should also be an excellent communicator who’s able to present your ideas confidently.
Though you will be encouraged to develop your knowledge through set-aside self-learning hours during the working week, the ideal candidate will already have superb Illustrator and Photoshop skills as well as a solid understanding of other graphic/ web design packages. Any experience using a content management system would also be beneficial.
