UNIX Team Leader - London

UNIX Team Leader, UNIX, Sun Solaris, London - My high-profile Retail client seeks a Team Lead Unix Systems Administrator to lead practical implementations of major UNIX O/ S projects and support high availability operation systems. Principle accountabilities: -Work with application developers and software support teams to identify the scope and resourcing required for new projects needing Unix input - Estimate work content of such requests and ensure project managers are aware of this in good time making their requests for funding - Operate a continual workload planning process, which allocates tasks to individual specialists experience and delivers projects on time to quality and budget. - Deputise for the infrastructure support team leader and productions systems manager Essential requirements: -Comprehensive and extensive commercial exposure in the implementation of UNIX O/ S and host hardware i.e. SUN Solaris and / or Linux - Extensive systems administration experience including working on high availability 24/ 7 operating systems - Leadership skills - Broad understanding of technical features of data networking, network storage and back up architectures including security considerations, application monitoring tools, change and configuration management.
