The Home Office deals with the most important issues facing the UK - tackling crime, terrorism, cutting illegal immigration and securing our borders. At HM Passport Office, we’re in the middle of an ambitious transformation programme which includes everything from people based initiatives through to technical agile projects, like digitising how we interact with our customers and process passport applications. As a key member of the Strategy and Change department, you will be at the forefront of our success in making changes that benefit people nationwide.

As a Business Change Manager, you will forge collaborative relationships with people from HM Passport Office and the Home Office. We’ll look to you to make sure project change and transitions are planned and implemented in ways that minimise adverse impact on the business while maximising the benefits. As well as considering the effect on our business, you’ll assess and manage the impact of changes on our customers, our people and equality. Leading the design and delivery of change activities and associated communication plans, you’ll enjoy excellent opportunities to develop your skills.

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need proven experience of leading business change on small to medium scale projects. We expect you to be familiar with a range of project methodologies including Waterfall and Agile. You’ve assessed and managed change impacts, and developed and managed communication solutions that support the success of change within a business. Crucially, you have a demonstrable ability to identify and manage a diverse range of stakeholders, to ensure everyone buys in to change.

The Home Office offers excellent career development prospects, competitive pension and benefits arrangements, and extensive professional support networks as well as being dedicated to promoting equality, fairness and respect. We will create a working environment where diversity is recognised, valued and celebrated. Exactly as you would expect from a large, progressive employer like the Civil Service.
