Main responsibilities of the post are:

*supporting and coaching programme teams in agile, digital ways of working

*ensuring Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and guidance (Assessment, Discovery and Delivery) are followed and that teams are adequately prepared for GDS Service Standard assessments via ongoing review process

*help realise a shared vision and objectives for digital delivery across Digital

Digital Capability Partners ensure digital teams deliver services that:

*are customer focused: understanding our customers' needs and involving the customer all the way through delivery

*follow GDS delivery practice: working in an iterative way informed by the GDS Service Manual

*work in multi-disciplined teams led by the business: using modern tools and techniques to support collaboration and distributed working

*deliver for the Group: working to implement group-wide solutions as the norm, reusing and extending existing solutions where possible

*follow the architectural vision and principles: using cloud based services, common components and approaches

*work towards delivery of clear business benefits: taking a shared commitment to secure business outcomes that will deliver our strategic review commitments

They build capability by:

*providing support to allow teams to build their own capability

*delivery approach

- provide guidance on use of relevant Agile and lean methods tools and techniques

- assisting Digital programmes to follow and adhere to the digital delivery principles

*governance

- help Digital understand where their existing practices and processes are not in alignment with digital ways of working and help them uncover new ways of governing and managing

*Procurement

- Provide advice regarding new procurement methods and frameworks

They help assure:

*business propositions meet user needs

*business propositions provide value for money

*services are following GDS standards and guidance

*risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies are being explicitly and transparently managed

*by assisting teams with spend controls to ensure process is followed and conditions are executed as necessary.

*by attending regular governance meetings providing 'activist governance'.

About you

Ideally the person will have proven experience delivering change activities, leading stakeholder engagement, identifying learning and development opportunities and driving organisation wide cultural change. These activities will typically form part of a larger transformation programme, advising on the long and short term impact of the change, assessing business readiness and designing and implementing target operating models, performance management and organisational learning.

The role requires a large amount of pragmatism and being able to work collaboratively with peers and technical subject matter experts within the team is essential.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

Essential

*experience of digital transformation in government

*experience leading the delivery of digital activities for large and complex organisations

*strong negotiation, relationship management and influencing skills at the most senior level

*strong agile and lean product and delivery management experience

*experience in supplier and contract management via the Digital Marketplace

*experience of working on projects relating to data and information quality and inputting into governance and compliance

*understanding of Open Source / Open Standards

*understanding of Cloud / PaaS / SaaS technologies and strategies

Desirable

*successfully led digital enabled change and introduced agile techniques to product delivery across large organisations

*experience of working according to GDS standards and guidance

*understanding of how central government works
