The Client;

An innovative university using the most up to date technologies, based in London, spread across multiple sites.

The Role;

The university is searching for Senior IT Security Analyst to work with its Information Security function. The IT Security Analyst will be responsible for supporting the universities IT by providing assistance with efforts related to information security risk management, compliance and governance.

Responsibilities;

1.Assist with the implementation, operation and maintenance of the Information Security Management System based on the ISO/IEC 27000 series standards and the UCISA guidelines.

2.Author and revise information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, based on industry standards and best practices in conjunction with industry forums.

3.Develop supporting information security awareness, training and educational material

4.Assist both internal and external audits relating to information security as well as performing independent audits to validate completeness and accuracy of the information security program.

5.Provide senior management with regular updates (information security metrics) regarding the universities information security posture.

6.Maintain an accurate system and control inventory of IT assets owned by the university.

7.Keep abreast of latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities pertaining to the university.

Additional responsibilities:

1.Perform information security risk assessments and assess the control environment of various business processes and relevant applications under review.

2.Provide technical advice and guidance on IT security related queries to both project and run areas as and when required

3.Assist the security operations response team with investigation, resolution and closure of incidents, including lessons learned.

4.Research and stay current on the latest security trends, best practices, and technology developments.

Requirements - Essential;

1. Vast work experience in information security management and/or related functions (such as IT audit & Risk Management)

2.Adequate knowledge of information security frameworks, standards and regulations (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, Cobit, ISF-SOGP, UK-DPA)

3.Working knowledge of security systems and appliances: firewalls, proxies, endpoint controls, IDS/IPS, DLP, SIEM, File Integrity Monitoring, vulnerability assessment tools, etc.

4. Vast experience with Cisco Networks / Cisco ISE

5. Experience with Fortinet cyber security software.

6. Demonstrable passion for information security and data privacy.

7. Current CCNA/CCNP certified

Requirements - Desirable;

1.CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and other relevant Information Security Certifications are a plus (i.e. CISM, CISA, GSEC, etc.)

2.Experience developing strategies for adoption of secure cloud based services.

3.Experience leading information security training for employees, contractors, volunteers, partners, and other third parties as appropriate
