About the role

*Please note this role is offered as an 8 month fixed term contract/secondment*

An exciting opportunity for a Product Manager has arisen within our Engagement Directorate.

The Product Manager for Secure Digital Publisher (the system used by CQC Inspectors to author and publish inspection reports) is a key member of the digital development team, representing business objectives and stakeholders in the design and delivery of new digital features.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Development, you will work in a business-facing role to understand emerging digital requirements and the underlying business objectives and priorities. Working as part of an agile delivery team, you’ll contribute to the development backlog and make decisions on behalf of the business in the delivery of digital features.

About you

You’ll have knowledge of key digital trends and user-centered design and be able to appreciate the wider business context in public sector and healthcare.

With a sound understanding of open-source technologies and best practice approaches to service-oriented architecture you’ll be able to quickly assess viability and likely cost/effort to deliver requested features. You’ll have the confidence to challenge both the technical delivery team and business where appropriate and will be comfortable working within an agile framework while retaining an appreciation of other methodologies (such as Waterfall).

The successful candidate will have strong digital research, analysis and reporting skills, including experience of designing, interpreting and drawing out key conclusions from research and business objectives.

This is a key role in an area of growing strategic importance for the organisation for a graduate (or equivalent) with experience of working on online propositions and contributing to digital strategy. You will have designed digital services for high profile consumer and niche audiences and be committed to creating excellent user experiences.

Your ability to communicate effectively and great team working skills are crucial for success in this role.
