As a Security Solution Architect, you will be responsible for both the implementation of security projects and providing security input into all IT projects. Applying your experience of leading the development and delivery of systems architecture initiatives, you will work closely with the Enterprise Security Architect to deliver outstanding results. Your role covers not only the traditional IT space, but also security solutions for Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Industry 4.0, to ensure the cutting-edge application of security concepts across Rolls-Royce.

Key Accountabilities

* Lead development of systems architectures, ensuring consistency with the enterprise architectures and specified requirements and standards agreed with both external and internal customers.

* Take full responsibility for ensuring that designs balance functional, service quality and systems management requirements.

* Within a business change programme, manage the programme's target design, policies and standards, working proactively to achieve stable, viable designs, and ensuring consistency of design across projects within the programme.

* Coordinate design activity, within a programme, and provide technical oversight of any supplier or in-house development team.

* Take responsibility for the technical integrity of projects, ensuring that common technical elements are recognised and that work is not unnecessarily duplicated.

* Assist in the development of service level agreements and any associated service guarantees.

* Ensure that coordination and change control are applied to architecture and design.

* Advise on the impact of changes to the project and on the process for assessing such impact.

* Inform project management of major design issues and make recommendations on their resolution.

* Ensure that all design changes are managed effectively, and contribute to formal reviews and evaluations throughout the lifecycle and when projects and programmes end.

* Provide advice on technical aspects of system development and integration, including the operational and maintenance aspects of systems under development, and proposed system recovery procedures.

* Ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.

* Translate component specifications into detailed designs for implementation using selected products.

Qualifications

* CISSP Certified or ISEB Information Security Management or Membership of the Institute of Information Security Professionals.

* Proven experience in in design, implementation and operation of large-scale security architecture solutions in a large and complex multi-supplier/multi-platform environment.

* Experience of leading IT Security architecture and design within government or regulated industry ideally covering protectively marked networks.

* Depth knowledge of a broad spectrum of security technologies incorporating network, operating system and application security.
