This new post is the Council’s professional lead for information governance and information management matters. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director, Customer, Information and Digital Services the post holder will work closely with all the Council’s management teams and key partners to ensure that Rotherham is properly looking after the information that it is entrusted with by its community.

Managing a team of enthusiastic and committed staff we are looking for someone with the drive and experience to take the lead on an ambitious improvement programme.

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;

Excellent knowledge and practical understanding of the legislation, regulation, policies, procedures and standards for information assurance to include management, security and information law compliance, and the ability to translate this in to organisational strategy and related policy;

Substantial experience of managing information teams responsible for Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Information Security and Records Management;

Experience in leading on training and awareness activity to achieve a positive shift in behaviour.
