Graduate Software Engineer required by a leading software house based in Reading, Berkshire, for either an immediate start or starting this summer. Working alongside an exceptionally highly skilled team of software engineers you will be responsible for development and testing using a combination of technologies including C, C++, Perl and Python. This is a large, complex software product used by large enterprises, financial institutions and universities throughout the world. The role will require you to gain a good understanding of all stages of the development lifecycle with a particular emphasis on development and testing. The role will involve development in a range of languages including C, C++, Perl and Python, primarily on a Linux platform. This client's innovative approach has given them an edge over their clients and propelled them into their position as the market leader within a very short space of time. This is your chance to contribute to their ongoing growth.
Due to the exceptionally challenging nature of the role, the company are only considering candidates who have shown that they can achieve at the highest level academically. In order to be considered you MUST have AT LEAST A, A, B grades at A-Level and a 2:1 or above in a relevant discipline from a top university. You should have an awareness of the software development lifecycle, preferably including implementation and testing phases, along with programming experience in one or more of C, C++, Perl or Python. Experience with Embedded systems, Linux or TCP/ IP networking would also be desirable.
