This role is for an assistant developer, and will require a dynamic, flexible individual capable of working well within a team environment.
The role may suit an applicant with junior experience or a couple of years of experience in software development / software testing experience. The candidate must have experience of Java development and ideally Web development techniques, SQL, JSP, HTML but may not necessarily have worked with Amdocs CRM or Actuate previously.
Working within a small team of seven people, you will be jointly responsible for the support and development of the company Service Delivery toolkit for Incident, Problem and Change Management. You will be involved in the implementation of the latest version of this toolset which is built on Java technology.
Supporting a user base of approximately 1000 colleagues you will play a key role in the development, testing and support of the product suite (comprising of Amdocs CRM, Actuate Enterprise Reporting Solutions and RightAnswers Knowledge Base.)
Working with lead developers to develop enhancements to the system (Amdocs CRM, Actuate), based on specific project requirements, skills required include: Java, SQL, JSP, HTML
Support end users in the use of our toolset, as required. This will include involvement in an on-call rota to provide out of hours support.
Play a key role in the technical unit and integration testing of all developments produced by the team, prior to handover for UAT & implementation
Documentation of enhancements, based on business requirements definition
Contingency for Technical Support Manager, supporting system and servers
We are looking for candidate with the following skills;
Essential Skills:
• Programming skills: Java, JSP, Java script, HTML, XHTML, CSS
• SQL server skills, experience in building SQL statements
• Excellent form design / layout skills
• Web site design skills
• Tomcat/ Weblogic
• Database report writing skills (using applications such as Actuate, Crystal or Business Objects)
• Knowledge of call logging / service management systems
• Experience of working with a source code control system
• Experience of working within a development / support team
Desired Skills:
• Flexible to new technologies for learning new skills & integrations
• Ability to work under pressure
• Very good organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self starter uses own initiative
• Strong documentation skills
