We’ve come a long way since 1825. Today, Clarks has an extensive online presence with retail sites worldwide. As Assistant Webmaster, you’ll be at the digital heart of the business, helping to make our site the first choice for quality footwear.

The role

The Clarks website is a crucial sales channel for the business. As Assistant Webmaster, it’ll be your job to update the site. You’ll keep it current and in good working order, running the weekly publishing process and managing web page infrastructure. All changes must be in line with seasonal trading plans as well as Merchandising and Brand. Best practice is important too, and all HTML and CSS code must meet industry standards, undated through the CMS. SEO’s another key factor, as are appealing graphics. You’ll see that both are doing their jobs and attracting as many visitors as possible. Of course, you’ll need to check that everything’s working like clockwork. That means running website tests with the help of the IT department.

A bit about you

With experience in ecommerce and web development, you’ll already have what it takes. You’ve worked with content management systems before and used various programming languages. HMTL and CSS are essential - others would be an advantage. Your expertise should also cover SEO techniques, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and web analytics tools. Thanks to your passion for all things digital, you’ll be continually updating your knowledge.

If you’re a web publishing wizard who always applies best practice, there could be an exciting role for you in a hard-working and talented team.

Life with us

Every 60 seconds, 105 pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.6 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 15,000 employees across 75 different countries - everywhere from Europe to the Americas. Despite being the world’s biggest everyday footwear brand (by sale volume), we’re still owned by the Clarks family and based in Street, Somerset - where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.

The benefits

As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy a variety of benefits. These range from 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) to discounted healthcare. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products.

We love hearing from great people

Clarks International believes that the principle of equality of opportunity is fundamental to the company's operations. Our long held aim is to provide just and fair treatment for all employees. We will not discriminate on the grounds of sex, age, disability, marital status, colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation or gender reassignment.
