The Front End Developer role

We like our customers to have the best. Like the click and collect service that allows them to pick up any of our 18,000 products in-store within 5 minutes of ordering online. Working within the ecommerce design team, and reporting to the web design manager, you’ll maintain, create and develop content for Screwfix.com and its affiliates. You’ll be encouraged to explore new ways of working in an established retailer that has won many awards for Retail Technical Leadership.

The skills you’ll need as a Front End Developer

With a passion for new technologies, you’ll have the capacity to think differently and the desire to find & follow emerging best practices with thorough industry wide knowledge.

Confident, curious, self-driven, commercially minded, pragmatic and quality focused all rolled into one. Technically, you’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge, capability or passion for some of the following:

- Have excellent HTML5, GIT and SASS/GRUNT experience

- Experience of working within an agile environment

- Experience with JQuery

- Knowledge of working with JavaScript

- Custom front end development using Foundation

- Experience using AMP

- Experience creating Custom banners and landing pages in Magento

- Responsive Email - MovableInk/.Mailer - development work

- Trouble shooting web/technical issues

- Experience working with integrated Java pages
