North West-based eLearning Production Company producing high quality video-based eLearning content for its own learning management software.

As part of the company’s expansion programme, built on the success and reputation of its production and commercial teams, employment opportunities now exist for experienced and recently graduated candidates in the field of web application / PHP development.

You will need the ability to work independently and as part of a team, following a brief, to develop new features that enhance our offering to existing clients. You will need a highly developed sense of attention to detail in both the backend code development as well as the frontend design aspects. You will need the determination, ability and flexibility to deliver to deadlines.

Our development team works primarily with PHP and also makes use of jQuery.

You will be part of the larger programming team and will regularly communicate regarding features, progress, code reviews and other relevant items.

You will also be working alongside the graphics team to develop the interface; then translate the designs into HTML and CSS to a high level of accuracy.

The ability to analyse and present large amounts of data in an easily digestible format is vital and experience of having developed management and/or reporting software would be helpful in this but is not essential.

Skills required:

Demonstrable skill, efficiency and talent in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery), MySQL database creation and management

Git or GitHub experience not essential but beneficial

Experience working to an agile software development methodology

Experience developing web-based management and reporting tools desirable

Competent with Microsoft Office.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills including face to face, telephone and e-mail.

Genuine creative talent.

A real interest in new technology.

(Experienced or recently graduated)
