Role:
Daily duties may include working on Scrum/Agile development, user interface design, requirements analysis, conducting research & development on new software technologies.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate:
* Has experience of designing and developing innovative software solutions. They will be experienced in Java and the use of object oriented design. Big Data experience such as Hadoop would be advantageous.
* May develop and deliver presentations
* Will be keen to learn a broad range of technologies on the Java stack
Essential Criteria:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Experience in software development and testing using Java
* Experience in design, development, test and integration of quality software that seeks to address challenging IT and security requirements.
* Experience with object oriented design.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
* Experience in Cloud Technologies such as Hadoop/Accumulo/Spark
* Experience or interest in User Experience (UX) techniques and designing and developing user interfaces
* 2:1 degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
* Proficiency in database programming (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
* Experience of UK Government working practices
Salary:-
£40,000 - £80,000 per annum + benefits
